Here's a list of games that you can enjoy in your pool:
One player covers their eyes with a blindfold while the other players make their way to different spots in the ool. The player who is blindfolded swims around the pool and tries to find the other players just by the sound of the splashes and voices. They may call out "Marco" at any time during the game, and the other players must respond "Polo". When a player is caught then they become the blindfolded player and the game continues
Everyone simply tosses a beach ball back and forth while riding a floating pool noodle. The aim is to stay on the noodle while catching and throwing the ball. If you fall off the noodle you are out of the game. The last person floating wins.
This is simple - just hold your breath and see who can swim underwater the longest.
One player is "it" and they stand in the middle of the pool while the other players, all at once, swim across the pool trying to avoid being tagged. If tagged then they must join hands with all other tagged players, and try to tag swimmers as they had back across the pool on the next round.
Players line up on inflatable pool rafts, and similar to gladiators, they try to knock each other off with pool noodles.
A great way to keep the kids entertained. One player is named the shark and they start at one end of the pool, and the minnows start at the other end. The idea is for the minnows to get to the other end of the pool, where the shark is without getting tagged by the shark. If they are tagged then they also become a shark. The last minnow to be tagged is the winner. The shark must have their back turned to the minnows until they hear one of them attempt to cross, which gives them a fair chance to cross.
You will need a judge on the sidelines. Their job is to rate the cannonballs on different categories such as: the biggest splash, the highest splash or the smallest splash.
Players are divided up into teams of two and each given a watermelon. The teams push the watermelon from one end of th pool to the other without touching the bottom of the pool.
This game can have any number of players all at one. One swimmer is "it", and they must chase and swim after the other players and try to tag them. This game should be played in the shallow end because once they are tagged, the player must remain frozen in place, with their legs apart to form a tunnel. When another player swims through their legs they are "unfrozen".
This is a simple and lucrative game - :-). Someone tosses coins of the deck of the pool and players dive after them.
Take a clear 2 liter plastic bottle. One with a white cap, or the same colour as your pool liner is a good idea. Fill the bottle with water and have the players line up on the pool deck with their backs to the water. Throw the bottle in the pool and when they here the splash they can turn around and try and find the camouflaged bottle at the bottom of the pool.
Ping pong balls are a great thing to float and catch. Put numbers on the balls for point values or put initials on them where players need to find just their own balls. The more there are the more fun it is.
This game is kind of like "whack-a-mole" in the pool. The player who is the "hammer" throws balls at the moles. The other players try to avoid being hit by the ball. If hit, they must sit out until the next round. The player left standing is now the new "hammer".
Swimmers line up at one end of the pool and are given a rubber duck. The idea is to get the duck to the other end of their pool using just their nose or breaths of air. They cannot touch the duck in any other way. Other players can push their opponents ducks off course just by splashing water. The first player across wins.
You need to prepare this game ahead of time. T-shirts are soaked in water and tied into a ball and frozen for 2 or 3 days. Players divide into 2 even groups, and each group is give a frozen t-shirt. The object of the game is to thaw out the shirt as quickly as you can and put it on. They can do this any way possible.
In this game you will need teams of 4, a bucket of balloons and a towel per group of 2 players. the idea is to send the water filled balloons back and forth between teammates on either side of the pool, using only the towel to catch and throw the balloon.
Remember basic pool safety and always have adult supervision!
