Got an Algae Problem?

With the warm weather coming, algae can become a problem, but don't worry, it's easy to get rid of and control.

Algae starts on the walls and produces a protective coat over the algae cell. Make sure you brush the walls, vacuum, backwash and (very important use the rinse on your filters dial valve). This will maximize the chance of a quicker kill. Your filtration system must be operating 24hours and do not cover your pool. Check your water balance it is advised to keep the pH between 7.2 & 7.4 while treating the algae. Double your normal chlorine dosage and use a quality kill algaecide (Algae Clear 60) for treating algae problems and to help speed up clarifying the water (Clear Rebound) a natural enzyme to help breakdown the organic waste. After the algae problem has been rectified continue with your normal weekly maintenance shock and continue to use a algae preventing algaecide (Algae Resist 50 or Ultra Cleanse). To keep that additional sparkle a water clarifying product as Nature Sheen or Clarifying Tablets are a bonus!
